Manager of Membership Services

Job Location: Vancouver, BC

Tennis BC, the governing provincial body for the sport, is looking for a full time manager of membership services to begin in January 2011. We have an annual membership of 20,000+ individual memberships and over 80 member clubs.

This position has duties that are both front line and creative as the position also oversees the layout of Axis -BC's Tennis Lifestyle Magazine. The position will have some interaction with our corporate partners and plays a role in assisting in Events/Tournaments. Some of the primary tasks that the manager of membership services performs include, but are not limited to:

Coordinating Membership databases
Working with member clubs and individuals on membership applications and renewals
Coordinating advertising with advertising managers and sponsors
Managing contributors for magazine articles
Managing and updating the Tennis BC website and affiliate social networking sites

Ideal applicants are educated, innovative, great communicators, and have strong interpersonal skills. A sports background, knowledge of the sport of tennis, and previous work experience in sports events and/or marketing is a plus. Ideal computer skills include competency with Microsoft Office programs and basic web management experience.

Communications Coordinator

We are an integrated financial and corporate communications firm. This is an entry level position. The successful candidate will have well developed organizational abilities, solid Microsoft Office skills and experience balancing and prioritizing a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities:
- Edit and update client website content
- Assist with the direction, creation and updating of PowerPoint presentations

Algorithm Development Engineer

We are looking for an Algorithm Development Engineer for our client, an innovative provider of electro -and hybrid drive systems. With the following duties and responsibilities:

- Designing and validating charge algorithms.
- Analyzing test results and making adjustment to the algorithms accordingly.
- Improving battery charging test capabilities and methodologies.
- Managing the activities of battery test technician.
- Driving continuous improvement of the algorithm development process.
- Answering inquiries and helping resolve issues related to battery charging in the field.

Must Haves:
- A degree or diploma in one of the following fields: electrochemistry, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering
- Experience and interest in battery applications and charging methodologies particularly with regard to lead-acid batteries.
- Able to operate basic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, data acquisition units, electronic loads.

Strong Assets are:

- 2+ years of embedded software development experience
- Experience working with battery manufactures
- Familiar with Labview
- Familiar with Excel macros
- Interests and experience with electrical vehicles
- Knowledge of Li-ion charging
